VMJ/VMR-152

VMJ-152 (formerly VMJ-1 until 7 July 1941) departed from San Diego on 10-11 October 1942, its first three aircraft arriving in New Caledonia late on October 19.  Along with HqSq-25, VMJ-253, the 13th TCS, and SMS-25, it was a founding component of SCAT.  It remained with SCAT throughout the unit's existence.  Only HqSq-25 had a longer history as part of MAG-25.  On 20 July 1944, along with other Marine utility squadrons, the squadron was redesignated a transport squadron, becoming VMR-152.
