MAG-25's first headquarters was at Tontouta Air Base in New Caledonia.  SCAT's headquarters later moved to Pekoa on Espiritu Santo in the New Hebrides (now Vanuatu).  In the summer of 1944 MAG-25 moved to Bougainville.  In October 1945 it relocated to China.

The group's routes covered much of the vast South Pacific, including regular routes to New Zealand and coastal Australia.  It moved forward along with the Allied advance through the Solomon Islands, around the Bismarck Archipelago, and into the Philippines.  By 1945 MAG-25 was flying to distant islands including Iwo Jima and Okinawa.
