Marine Air Repair and Salvage Squadron 1 was assigned to MAG-25 from January to July 1944, having previously been part of the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing until 31 December 1943. Based at Tontouta, it specialized in overhauls and heavy maintenance of the group's R4Ds, a job previously performed by SMS-25. On 15 June 1944 the squadron was detached from the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, along with HqSq-25 and SMS-25, joining the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing. On July 12, the squadron was decommissioned and its personnel absorbed into SMS-25.
